Agricultural gearboxes play a vital role in agricultural machinery, and their life is affected by many factors.
1. Workload
The characteristics of agricultural operations determine that gearboxes often face high-intensity workloads. In operations such as plowing, sowing, and harvesting, large torque needs to be transmitted. When under high load for a long time, gears, shafts and other components will produce serious wear, which greatly shortens the life of gearboxes. For example, when deep plowing the land, the gearboxes of the tractor must continuously output high torque. If it exceeds its design tolerance, the internal structure will gradually be damaged.
2. Lubrication condition
Good lubrication is the key to extending the life of agricultural gearboxes. Lubricating oil can not only reduce friction between components, but also play a role in cooling and cleaning. If the lubricating oil is insufficient, friction will increase, excessive heat will be generated, and components such as gears and bearings will be overheated and deformed. If the lubricating oil is contaminated, such as impurities and water mixed in, it will accelerate the corrosion and wear of components.

3. Working Environment
The agricultural environment is complex and changeable, which has a huge impact on the life of gearboxes. Dust, dirt, and moisture can easily enter the interior of gearboxes. Dust and dirt increase wear, and moisture may cause rust. In wet rice fields or rainy seasons, if the gearboxes are not well sealed, they are easily damp and rusted, affecting their normal operation and service life.
4. Maintenance
The impact of regular maintenance on the life of agricultural gearboxes cannot be ignored. Timely replacement of worn parts, adjustment of gear clearance, and inspection of sealing performance can ensure that the gearboxes are in good working condition. If maintenance is lacking, small problems will gradually accumulate into major failures, eventually leading to the premature scrapping of gearboxes.
5. Manufacturing Quality
The manufacturing process and material quality determine the initial quality of gearboxes. High-quality steel, precision processing and assembly can ensure that gearboxes have better stability when subjected to various stresses, thereby extending their service life. Conversely, low-quality manufacturing will make gearboxes inherently deficient and prone to failure.
